Done That, Been There, Now Share

It’s been about more than 18 months since we started this blog with an aim to promote Nepal’s Tourism Industry, and only a handful of travelers have noticed this site so far; perhaps our site is found hidden beneath the search results.

Done That ? Been There? Share. I believe in a simple formula that I was once taught in a Marketing Class - Knowledge X Sharing Equals Power. And I truly believe that formula is absolutely True.

While we have had encouraged Nepali travel companies to make use of this blog, only a few have used it so far. As for travellers, the story is same.

Please share your snaps, or stories or whatever you have felt in your trip to Nepal. To publish your article, Simply login, write your story, you can also upload your images. Below are afew hints, if you are going to do that.

  • Try keeping your topic short
  • You can upload as many photos as you like. If you have trouble uploading your photos, (which is very unlikely), you can send them to the following email address mentinong the name of the post. [My Photos for this Post (Post Name)] The email address of the admin is lol*****nepal********@gmail.com (Sorry, to prevent spam bot from getting that email address, we had to write like that, just remove all *******s in that email address)
  • Your small photo would be great to readers, so upload your image, small or big you decide. My recommendation is a small photo enough to know who you are.
  • If you are sharing your travel experience, be sure to write where you are from. People are interested in learning how a person from that coutry felt vistiing Nepal and they love to know.
  • Please do not write your email address unless you like. Also do not write personal information such as your home address, etc.
  • Please do pick the appropriate category that fits to your post.
  • Since we get bunches of S P A M s, your post will only be published upon review by publisher. If required, our editors may resize, edit your post.
  • Please write in a language that is suitable for all ages.

**** a few stuff behind what’s happening at this site ?

  • This is only a part of the main site. Theme may change but the Idea of promoting Nepal through a blog won’t change. This is Nepal’s first of such blog since many of the others are heavly concentrated on politics and democracy except “Tourism”. Since we started, it’s nice to know that our Nepal Tourism Board is also launching a blog. So when you have time, try their blog. You can access it from their main site welcomenepal.com. We will be adding a business directory for “Remote regions” so travellers can benefit from it. We all know that there is too many business directory with listings of cities, but there are a few that focues on “Rural Areas”. And two more items will be added and we will keep them as a surprise for you. What do you think? Two items. What could they be ? Make a guess by commenting to this post.
  • Yes, site won’t be redesigned etc.. A lot of you may have asked for a pleasing background, logo etc, but that’s not our goal. Our goal is be simple, offer contents fast and provide as much information as possible on the country we love “NEPAL”
  • The section “Real Nepal” which can be accessed from the front page is under heavy rewriting and design and should come up soon. We now have a few other sister network sites that are taking our time. Please bear with us as we finish a few of them, then we will provide additional topics and rewrite some of the contents including the section faces of nepal, have you seen it ? Go to homepage and see link there or you just google “Faces of Nepal” We will be changing the “Government and Politics”. Talking about Government and Politics, Did you know that Nepal had 10 different governments in 10 years ? That could a world record for a gold medal… just laughing out loud.
  • We are promoting NEPAL with a few videos on a video sharing YOUTUBE. We are in need of your help. We need more photos, photos that aren’t copyrighted. If you would like, you can send us some photos that we will create for nothing but to promote the country (credit will be given to you on the video)
  • Not all BIG sites offer MORE. So when you are searching on the web, don’t forget to go beyond the first page! Most travel sites that are BIG are just BIG, they have less contents than the smaller onces. If you don’t believe. Just write a comment of what you think ?

p.s. When your mother tongue is Nepali, you do seem to talk a whole lot about Nepal. Browse and search the site and see for yourself and see how simple this site is yet offers more than the BIG onces.

    Namaste,
I plan on going to Nepal in October, hopefully during Tihar. I thinking of trekking (Annapurna Sanctuary), and rafting. I am interested in the agriculture, botany and ecology of Nepal. I would like to see postings, pictures, and advice that may help me in my journey.

    Thank you

Have a look at the travel section of the main site, you should be able to find some info. There is also a photo gallery, find link from the main page, that shouldn’t be hard to do. Yeah, when you come back or when you are there, could you please share some of your snaps with us.

Namastay back to you. Hope to see some of your photos here on this blog.

Hi Ruben, do you have information on the current situation on the ground. I have heard that the oil shortage crisis is worsening and this will severely affect the tourism business. Several of my friends are cancelling trekking expeditions scheduled for early Oct. Is there indeed cause for concern and should visit plans be deferred at this stage?

Thanking you for your assistance. We enjoy the blog,

Oil shortage is everywhere, a friend of mine see it happening in many parts of the United States as well. Tourists wanting to explore Nepal shouldn’t be scared. There are travel agents, guides, tour operators ready to assist you and some even provide a great service for your peace of mind. So I wouldn’t think that a few oil shortage problem should ban someone from exploring this nation where nearly 27 million people live. If you are coming alone, then imagine 1 vs 27 living and 1 living only for a limited period of time while 27 living for the rest of their lives. Please Visit Nepal. Period.
