Bashundhara Chakrapath For Tourists

Bashundhara For Tourists

Not long ago, Thamel, the packed street with loads of shops was the only place famous for tourists to stroll around. Now, Tourists find places away from the main crowed locations in the Capital, as equally refreshing for easy walks and sightseeing so there are making other places famous as well

One of such is the place near Maharajgunj and Narayan Chok also called the Chakrapath, is getting more tourists day by day. The place is called Bashundhara. Here, there is a star hotel called Shahinshah, which is equipped with all modern amenities that star hotels offer and it is located at the base of Bashundha. For cheap hotels, many choose the hotels located in the near Gangabu Bus Park, the main bus terminal that connects Kathmandu with the rest of the outer cities such as Pokhara, Chitwan.
Bashundhara has three spots; the lower plain from where the main Ring-Road joins with it, Bashundhara Height; Left side takes you to residential areas and Ram Mandhir and if you follow the road you can pass Shahinsha Hotel on the right and then join the main Ringroad. The other side of Bashundhara Height, takes you to a local Government School, and going a little further, you can witness a cute temple called Krishna Mandhir. If you follow this road keeping yourself to the left, you can reach a little above Chakrapatha road. For those who wish to ride, bicycle is a good option. From Bashundhara you can get some views such as the view of TU hospital, Gangbu area and near by mountain slopes.
So be sure to visit this clean, quiet hill town when you visit Kathmandu. This year alone I must have spotted more than a thousand tourists visiting this year, and that figure is a significant one as compared to last year; around 100 or so. This recent number of tourists visiting the area is a positive sign that this hill town offers something that they like, a little bit far from crowds, a few temples, a cute road, and upclose view of modern Nepali homes, and some views from a height that is easy to get to.

In my next post, I will present you with some photos. For now, Namastay and take care!
Indu
