Nepal Near The Most Powerful Election Ever

Near the Election of a life-time, what would you expect?

Often I choose not to search for news or even read blogs writing about what’s happening in our country. Why? Just so much pain to see riots back again. Sometime you wake up wishing Nepal a brand new day where the talks would be about moving on from what it has on hand, and moving on with peace in minds and in our actions. And not all of us have yet realized the consequences of our actions to our tourism industy. When will we stop doing things that bites the hands that feed us. This week and the week before, have made me so sick that I stopped blogging. I had a fever, a real one. As doctors tell me that fever raises my body’s temperature so the process of spreading bacteria in my body is slowed down. I guess I shouldn’t be so worried then. It does make me wonder how many of us, the Nepalese have fever because of our country’s situation? And how many of us still do riots and Bandhas in spite of carrying a fever?
It’s not always easy to write topics about tourism and other related stuffs when everyone else writes what’s easy, the news and politics. Turn to online news sites, now you have bunches of topics to write about. Am I wrong?

Travellers to Nepal shouldn’t worry about a thing. That is my point here. The situation in Nepal is still the best in a decade. Any traveller already making their plan to visit Nepal, shouldn’t be distracted with bombardments of politically driven contents on our news sites and blog. Seriously, take them as tabloits cashing in from hot topics worth a penny for the development of our great nation, the Nepal.

Nepal is now in the best tourism season. The little bit of turmoil is because the people here are too excited about the election, for it’s like the most beautiful gift they have been waiting for many years. So a bit of a unsettling was an expected event. The gift is so huge, we can even expect some people to faint perhaps you will hear that too soon!

Well, come see us. Arm yourself with some safety travel tips that are common to most developing countries. C U Soon!

By taking to you through this post, you have helped me. I can feel my fever slowly dropping. Thanks for listening everyone. Have a great day today!

If you have arranged your trip through the local travel agents located in Nepal, they should be able to help you fulfill your trip without a problem. If you are doing this on solo, just be cautious when going in hilly regions specially during this intense period of election where anything could go wrong such as riots, road-blockage etc which could hamper your schedules.

    Answering to your questions:
    1) As all the shops are shut..
No not all are shut, banks should be open. If you haven’t landed outside, you can change money at the T.U. airport. Also there are many exchange centers located in Thamel area which I believe won’t be closed but open to assist travlers who are in Nepal.

    2) Getting back to the Hotel. Are you talking about from The airport ? This shouldn’t be a problem. Nepal welcomes tourists seriously. When I lived there, There were hotel-run and even police-run vehicles escorting tourists to the destination area. Yeah, I had to walk for about 2 hours from Tinkune to reach my home after work (the office boss didn’t close the business. It was basically fours of walking for me) You shouldn’t have any problem.

I advise you to be alert in times of election etc, You might find some useful info on this post which talks about traveling safely in Nepal.
