Indu’s Photos of Nepal - Part 1
Please note: Indu is on a mission to travel to many parts of Nepal and share her images and stories at nepalvista.com. This is her first attempt. If you are interested in doing similar work, please let us know. We pay for your work and we know traveling is not an easy job!
Now, from Indu,
Hello everyone! Thought you might like these photos I took while traveling to various parts of my country. I am not a journalist nor a photographer but I love my country very much. I wish to share my snaps using this site and I get paid for my work, that’s great, thanks 2 nepalvista! At the moment, my computer is not working at all. I will soon upload more of the photos of the places that I have traveled here in our beautiful Nepal.
But If you say “WOW!” to any of these photos and you have not visited my country, then there is something wrong!!!!
What ? well, you haven’t visited Nepal!
Please visit our wonderful country and make “Visit Pokhara 2007″ successful. I believe more of us, the Nepali, should start traveling to our own country too!
First of all, thanks for coming here on this page to view my work, Danyabad / Thank You!.
I would love it if you could give me some feedbacks.
Have a wonderful day today everyone! Let me show you the photos with descriptions, and here they are:
Kids Work in Nepal, and a lot of them do! Here is a kid working in a farm:
A kid working in a farm near Manakamana Temple :

Here is another kid carrying water home; Dad busy ploughing the field and
mum cooking corn soup.

A Sunset view from Chitwan, Nepal:

When it snows, it snows in DAMAN. Daman is the most popular spot that gets more snow than any other region close to cities like Kathmandu. One of my friend is having fun below, I have no clue what she is doing! Is she really trying to go up or staying where she is or could she be dancing…

Daman often gets snow, here is my friend just having the Wooows!

When you ride on an Elephant to see the jungle, do you thank the animal that work for you ? Here is one that is waiting for you. Without you, this animal would be some where else. Riding on an Elephant to see wilderness is better than riding on a machine made rider like 4WD. Have you ever been taken for a nature ride using Nature’s Creation?
Elephants love you!
Come see them, they are plenty at Chitwan National Park, Waiting and eager to C U!

Seti River Really Starts from here, a location in Pokhara. After it starts,
its gone, hiding deep in the gorge often difficult to find.
The word “Seti” of Nepali means “White” in English.

Daman is a great place to visit, when you get here at the right time you can spot snow, and all season long, great views of the Himalayas 360 degree from the Daman Tower. Many Nepalese visit this place for picnic and hangouts, it’s at the top of a mountain and a whole lot fun getting there and having fun.
Picnic at Daman is tip of the tongue in Kathmandu!

When you leave Kathmandu by Bus, you go through Thankot, a hill area,

A view from Manakanamana Temple and round. Not always do you relate Manakama Temple with the Temple, there are awesome views waiting for you to see here. Did you know, there is only one cable car in Nepal, It’s the Manakamana Car. Take this ride and yo won’t regret it!

A sunset view of Pokhara Tal or Pokhara Phewa Lake. When someone talks about Lake in Nepal, they are probably talking about Pokhara Tal / Lake. On the lap of nature paradise sits a lake to be explored. This lake is often called the Paradise of Nepal where the Nepal Himalaya is all around you.

This one, I got spotted at the office of Chitwan Park. She is an orphan Deer,
who is getting flowers from my hand as a blessing. I think she misses her Mum and Dad.

So you gonna take that 4WD to see nature in Chitwan, What’s the road gonna look like ? Something similar to the one below.

That’s me on the right and my friend at pilgrimage book house.

Most jungle safari in Chitwan is done on Elephant Ride.
Are you going to ride this year ? Discover the gifts of Nature using Nature’s Gift. These giant elephants walk slow yet make a long leap for you to get closer to nature!

Seti River, looks so close yet its so deep. Seti (White) river is one of the wonders of Nepal. You have got to see it before you leave Nepal!

Kids carrying flowers in the basket. May be that’s the Dad in front.

Well, that’s all for today, see you next time!
Indu Kafle.

Dear Indu,
We are doing a human rights project in Nepal including secundary education scholarships and vocational training for young Terai Dalits. The project will run for about 3 years and we are looking for a reporter (photos and written human interest articles, preferably also video) who can travel down there about 2-3 times a year to report about the progress. Please contact us as soon as possible if interested (camille.fontijn@carenederland.org).
