Nepal Gets New National Anthem
Nobody likes to sing a song that is not upto their liking. I mean, have you ever had to sing a song that you didn’t like?
Many among us, learn about our National Anthem when we are in school. Some of us, don’t even care to remember the complete song, do we? May be we can remember the first part or the part that we don’ like. But it is important that a country’s national anthem must be realistic, easy to sing and remember so when we sing, it can have the power to bring us together with tears of joys.
On Friday August 3 2007 Nepal Time, Nepali Goverment scraps the old National song which was fully devoted to singing for the Royals and hence many Nepalese who didn’t favor Royals, had to sing it without vomiting!
The New Anthem written by a lawyer, Pradeep Kumar Rai and music composed by Amber Gurung in the tradition of smoothing Nepali Folk Song, the Anthem might live long no matter what kind of Government Nepal gets in the Future.
For the first time in the history of Nepal, National Anthem sings for Nepalese and it represents all class of Nepalese from Terai to Himal. The old Anthem sings as if Nepalese are slaves to the Monarchy.
This unfolding Himalayan nation is sure to bring many suprises in the days ahead. Politically, Making of the lyric as a National Anthem, is a gift to Nepalese who support their leaders. But much lies ahead for Nepali Politicians to keep the public happy and to maintain peace and stability in the country.
