Nepal - Valley Tourist Police should be Nepal Tourist Police
Nepal - Valley Tourist Police should be Nepal Tourist Police
I just read a very sad news article on http://www.gorkhapatra.org.np/content.php?nid=23915, by Ananda P Shrestha, which clearly provides a strong message to the (Royal) Nepal Police. Hope they not only read but investigate the matter. It is a small incident, tourists received unwelcoming conduct. Incident like that happens even in a developed country such as America. However, and unfortunately, those who commit crimes aren’t brought to justice in our country, which is very sad.
Tourists getting robed in Nepal is a very rare incident and the rate is relatevely very low in comparison to other countries.
It’s hightime for Nepal Tourism Board(NTB) to extend the Tourist Police Force to other parts of the country, not just glued in the easy walking Kathmandu Valley! What will it take for every Nepali Police to act also as a Tourist Police? That doesn’t sound weird, does it? Right now, there is peace in place and our cops have nothing to do. It is economically viable to train our police force to speak some English and assist our tourists. How much will this cost? Anyone with a figures?
A nation that solely depends on its tourism industry, it is a shame on the face of its Government as well as big tourism organizations like NTB for doing little to protect those who feed our Nepal.
