Nepal - Popularity of Pop Culture Tourism Product Could Go Further
Landing in Kathmandu is now not only for your feast of mountain views and visits to historical temples and monuments, but it is also your next step towards grabbing a tourism product known as the Pop Culture.
Look around and see what you can’t find here. There are night clubs, bars, pools, concert, movie theaters, and you name it! Country might be the poorest and everything flashy looks unmatched, but the culture is expanding to many cites such as Pokhara and even to remote places like Dharan City; which could be described as the center of Tea Heaven of Nepal.
Tourists coming to Nepal can now enjoy more than they know about Nepal.
Teens, both domestic as well as Internationals are also the major contributors to tourism business. Many Teens coming from foreign countries are keen of learning about different culture as well as having fun through entertainments such as watching movies, going to a concert, disco etc. Although, Nepal has the requirements to sell Pop Culture Tourism Product, it is lacking required promotion to sell it effectivelly.
- When it comes to branding Nepal, we all use Everest and Natural Beauty and this and that
- A collective force through a collaboration of South Asian Film/Musical Artists would go further in promoting this kind of tourism product not only in Nepal but also in the entire region, but nobody seems to care.
- Nepali Musical Artists perform overseas all year around, going from countries to countries entertaining Nepalese alone. Instead of going overseas, they could work at home to attract tourists, just how many have done it so far?
- There is also need to do much by Nepali Film Makers to create films that many people would watch. Movies are created with minimum viewers in mind, just Nepali. Consider making movies for the world to watch. Would that boost Nepal’s Pop Tourism product ? Absolutely! But Who cares in this country where political agendas are before anything else.
As more and more teenagers are travelling and exploring foreign lands, it is just a matter of time when this product will come close to being the second most important tourism sport of Nepal.
Pour some sugar on me.. Remember that English song?
