Two Tourism Sites That Will Get You

Today, I am going to really bite hard on our Government, who, in spite of required resources, have failed to present contents online to sell our tourism product. I am hoping they will read this post.

Thought I should spend my whole day searching at Google to pick two among the official tourism sites of all the countries as well as to throw my views on their efforts to promote tourism. Not promising anything here, I am picking the top two for now, more later…

• #1 : Australia : wherethebloodyhellareyou.com - what a name, say where the bloody hell are you and it grabs anyone’s attention. It gets you even before you visit the site. Branding a promotion using such a phrase? But it is effective. Can we learn something from this site to help us promote our tourism? We certainly can. We need tech savvy guys in our Government as well as Real Salesmen holding degrees in International Marketing!
  Australia’s official tourism site is here, http://www.australia.com/
• #2 : Malaysia’s tourism organization, http://www.tourism.gov.my . That is exactly what an official tourism media should offer contents online. Loads of info and probably the best tourism website I have ever seen. Everything here is as pleasing as a view from pokhara towards the manchhapuchray and it leaves you with nothing to ask, no where to go for data. They also have a campaign visit Malaysia cyber campaign, http://www.vmcc.com.my/

  Our Government and its associates have always failed to perform both in political arena as well as in web. Any poor nation can have a budget to create the world’s best website, it does not cost much. Ok, we do not need that. Perhaps little more to sell something online? Have a look at our tourism.gov.np , does it sell anything. It would be one of the most valuable information here on this post if anyone knows the BUDGET of Tourism Ministry of Nepal and how much of that is spent on Information Technology. If you know that information, would you please kindly let the world know- just comment this post, please.

Australia does a lot of promotion on tv channels. But lacks advertising on the web.

Malayasia does both web plus tv ads

Nepal needs to split the donation it gets from other countries. It needs to throw some of that on web ads such as video ads on youtube.com and see the results. If nobody reads what I am writing about, can someone please provide a donation to Nepal in the form of Advertisement. How about advertising on youtube.com? Do you have that extra money that you do not need? Help yourself, donate web ads for Nepal. Youtube says if you have $25 K you can start a campaign. Will someone do this for Nepal for the sake of love of Nepal.
