Come July, Nepal will be ready to show you a record

Nepal Tourism Board shows tourists arrival of the previous month. So get ready for some suprises of June which will be avialable in the coming month.

These are our predictions without having any records, let us see how good or bad they become…

• Tourist growth 40% as compared to the same month last year
• Tourist arrival from Europe with significant growth
• South asian countries contribute to the major growth trend
• Number of tourists coming by land is not avialable because we are spending much of our time on air!
• Our goverment is unable to cooperate with our tourism promotion campaign, visit pokhara 2007
• Some of the decline as compared to previous month (of this year) are not due to our inability to promote our tourism online or by tours but it is because of country’s political situation which had a bit of a high fever hence we expect more tourists in the next month for which we will be having one to one dialogue with the government so as to keep the campaign alive till the end of year by when we must get 500,000 tourists to Nepal.

So there goes some of my predictions.

Any body knows the sum of tourists arrival for this year so far? what’s the figure? I subscribed to the website of Nepal Tourism board six months ago. It has a location on the website where it says, enter your email to get tourist arrival data every month. It has been six months, i have not received anything from them. Is their site working? I have doubts. There is post here that talks about one of the most popular search engines, google saying that the website of Nepal tourism board may harm your computer. If you can not sell online, you are living in the past, perhaps ready to repeat the failure of visit nepal 98!

Ok, a dummy prediction is less than the target for six moths, if it has reached to 250,000 then it looks like we might grab the final number. By a dummy calculation, we need around 1500 tourists entering to Nepal every single day! That’s not hard to achieve, we still got half the year left. Is there someone who is looking at target vs performance, a vital component to a success. Every sales-men is given a target and if they fail to achieve, they are fired!
