During this season, Everest gets half of Nepal’s news profile on the Internet. Search using the keyword “Nepal” for news, you get around 7,000 results which is twice the above. Does that say something about the popularity of “Everest” during the spring season ? Now, don’t tell us to show the result for “Republic” or “Democracy”, all are visions until there is the foundation of peace.
46 climbers making atop world’s highest mountain in one single month is certainly one of the biggest sensations for the country and a great achievement in spite of the continuation of country’s political turmoil.
Except the guides, all were foreigners! What will it take for about 46 Nepalese to reach to the top ? How about one of our Nepali politician making it to the top ? It is perhaps we don’t smell the roses in our backyards, or perhaps the cost of climbing everest is only for people who hold $’s ?
