Key Facts
- 25,656 Tourists Arrived in Nepal during the month Feb 2007 by Air
- Arrival growth : 63% as compared to February 2006 (Approximately 15740 tourists arrived in Nepal in February 2006 by air, (last year)
- Contribution of the growth by European nations are France (68 per cent), Germany (23.4 per cent) and the UK (88.3 per cent)
- The East Asian countries represent nearly 28% of the tourist arrival
- Improving security situation in the country and Direct flights from South Korea, Bangladesh and China to Nepal are key contributors to the growth of tourists from Asian regions
Much still remains to be done to achieve a satisfactory level of tourists inflow per month. With the set target 500,000 for the year 2007. February’s contribution is only 5.1% of the target. We are unable to find out the contribution made by January, so if anyone knows the figure please let us know we we can add to see how far we are going…
