Press Release
January 22, 2007
Nuwakot Chamber of Commerce & Industry is going to organize ‘Nuwakot Festival-2063′ from February 9-13, 2007 in Nuwakot. The objective of the festival is to promote the unique natural and cultural attractions of this region as well as to showcase the different agricultural and industrial products of this region. Nepal Tourism Board is promoting this festival with the hope that such festival will enhance the local trade and tourism activities in this region.
In a press release, the organizers have stated that the fair will have stalls, which would showcase major manufacturing and agriculture products through the five-day long exposition. “Agro-products, dairy products, poultry items and tourism products will be featured in the Fair,” states the release.
Speaking on the program Mr. Hikmat Singh Ayer, Manager at Nepal Tourism Board said the area was very important from historical perspective and the tourism products of the region could be of interest to tourists.
…………. End of Press Release
Now, I have a feeling that VP2007 will probably be a year of press-releases.
Planning a trip to a foreign country requires a lot of time in planning. Unless we show the world every details of VP2007 festival, we won’t be giving our travelers the time they would need to attend events. If events are to be attended by Nepalese at home and by a handful of travelers who are already there, then a yearly calendar might not be necessary.
But if the theme of such festivals are truly designed to attract more tourists to visit Nepal, someone responsible should scratch his or her head hard!
Let’s call tomorrow, a rock and roll concert in the heart of Kathmandu - a great part of the VP2007 festival. We will all rock. Will you please fly from New York or Sydney or London and attend, please… please… please.. press reeeeeeeeelease…
What is a calendar ? Press Release…
