Wake up Welcome Nepal!

Visit Pokhara 2007 is a year long tourism festival of Nepal.

This new tourism festival should have been taken more seriously by the so called responsible bodies such as the Nepal Tourism Board or Nepal Ministry of Culture and Tourism or Pokhara Tourism Council

One example is their  inability to promote the festival through their website. Welcome to the custom of Nepalese - the punctuality!

We tell our visitors, Expect nothing to work on time in Nepal. There we go!

The following two web sites are regarded as the main tourism sites of Nepal, although there are other equally outstanding commercial or none commercial web sites promoting Nepal. You could count on us too, if you think we are doing okay…

Nepal Tourism Board’s website welcomenepal.com and Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s website tourism.gov.np are the main tourism sites of Nepal.

What they offer, well, nothing about this BIG festival as of this date of writing, except some press-releases are mentioned here there, yet the festival is already 11 days old. Will our celebrations be among those tourists who have already visted Nepal ?
Internet is the way to get our message across the globe faster. Will our tourism websites be talking about a festival that’s already gone ?

In the days ahead, our tourism sites will become smart that they will actually promote festivals to bring new people to Nepal.
We believe half of the budget of the festival should be spent on Internet Advertisements. Here are some links to help those responsible guys, if you are reading this blog that is!

And if you need help in finding top internet sites, try this http://www.alexa.com/

Oh yes, talk to the folks in Nepal Computer Association Center too, don’t ignore them when you are taking upon such a big festival like this one where your job is to bring peoples miles a way from home.

How fast can you catch them ? Will Internet be faster and cost-effective ?
Dreaming about free flights to see places and seminars that people don’t attend will bring the results of Visit Nepal 1998!!! Better dream about how you are going to catch some of the over a billion people who are online everyday.  (source : http://www.bcentral.co.uk/ )

You only need 500,000 to visit Nepal! How hard can it be ? Let’s get to work…
